I am the lady behind this whole thing. A native Texan and long time food lover, I moved to Dallas over 7 years ago from the gulf coast and have fallen in love with the city and its food ever since. This place has made me an urbanite (yes, you can take the small-town out of the girl). I am prone to wander, a compulsive global traveler, amateur photographer, and major coffee connoisseur by passion and by trade. As an ex-culinary student I’ve been drawn to recipe development and investing good in to my life, since most of the time I can’t find exactly what I want – so I make it! Total health includes diet, physical exercise, spiritual growth, and emotional balance. So, what you put in is what you put out. I like to put good in so I can get good out.
Fraction Fare is all about reducing sugar, saturated fats, meats, refined carbs and the overall junk that most people consume. I like to incorporate nutrition and flavor by substituting refined flours for healthier, more wholesome choices into your favorite treats and meals. Honestly, we all have those days where all we want is a brownie and a big bowl of noodles, sometime’s more often than nought. It’s okay to treat yourself, just consume thoughtfully. It’s not about depriving yourself but rather learning how to treat yourself. I’m still learning the balanced art of treating yourself (and I still eat regular old decadent, dense dark chocolate brownies on the occasion), but being equipped with the tools, knowledge and recipes to make a fraction of the amount of something, with a fraction of the “bad” stuff has helped me better care for myself.
You’ll notice a fusion of sweet and savory, multiple ethnic inspired dishes and combinations of heathy foods with downright unhealthy ingredients – like duck on a salad! These unlikely pairings of “a little bit of this and a little of that” add up to one delicious dining experience every time.
