Smoky Chili Cobbler

Growning up in a Texas home we were raised on chili during the colder months of the year. There was nothing like coming home after school or any number of practices to see that there was a piping-hot homemade pot of chili sitting on the stove with some fresh cornbread muffins waiting to be devoured. We had the extras on the side so we could make our own bowls, especially since we had some picky eaters in the family (*cough* my sister *cough*).

Go-To French Toast

Summer is winding down which means we’re enjoying the last of our late morning patio brunches and sun-filled mornings enjoying all of the sugary breads the world has to offer us and these days it seems like every day there’s a new delicious offering to try. But a definitely heavy hitter, french toast, will never be replaced and will always be a super solid go-to option. This a favorite of kids and fancy elites alike, so basically french toast unites us all. It’s also a beautiful blank canvas to create on although just some pure maple syrup on top will give you all of the feel good memories your little heart can handle.

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

The new year brings lots of new projects and things to the surface that need to be implemented or managed. With that there’s a certain level of time needed to dedicate to each of those. If I can’t do that then I’m left with a banana on my way out the door for work.

Golden Oats

Like the first rays of a rising sun, these overnight oats burst with a bright golden color from the anti-inflammatory powerhouse root turmeric. This root is packed with curcumin, the chemical agent that is responsible for the anti-inflammatory activity. This paired with metabolism boosting ginger and heart healthy cinnamon and long lasting oats, you’re sure to start your morning off on the right foot before you step outside the door!

Warm Duck and Kale Salad

I love eating fresh ingredients but sometimes the idea of eating a cold salad, in a cold house, with the visual of winter outside every window your eye happens to graze across, simply does not sound really wonderful. The work around here is a warm salad – still a salad, with healthy, fresh, and yes, cold ingredients but with warm, cooked components. Warm salads help sustain me through the wintertime, along with some cozy soups. Especially when I’m trying to distract myself from the fact that there’s probably fresh cookies around every corner of┬ámy kitchen and pantry.
